Thanks to one of my PGCE students, Jo Badge, for the information about this site which lets you type foreign characters, accent marks, diacritics and other characters online.
The site is typeit ... clever idea and saves time if you are working in another language or have children in your class for whom English is not their first language.

Jo Badge is obviously on a roll this morning ... getting herself geared up for  teaching experience no doubt. She has come up with another resource, right on cue for the time of year. This is a Halloween set of apps for ipads, ipods and iphones ...  found on Shelly Terrell's blog .
And what is more Tricia has come up with great books for Halloween reading from the Nosy Crow blog.

Also ... 15 Halloween Resource Sites for Teachers from Teaching News.

And ... Mathsframe.co.uk provides software for teaching maths on interactive whiteboards. Lots of free activities ...There is a small cost for total access but at £10/year should be well worth the fee.

Thanks to Tricia Neal for the information about this site – Little Parachutes – a site which contains details of picture books which ‘help children with life’s challenges’

Here’s what they say about themselves:

John McLear has created an incredible set of  tools and things that are terrifically useful. Just take a look here and check out the ones that may have passed you by.
This is what John says about himself:

I’m passionate about creating ICT services that can be used worldwide by anyone at any time. I work with a large team of devoted professionals to try to accomplish this. I was born and raised in Bradford, UK. My schooling began at Heaton St Barnabas and proceeded to Dixons CTC. After discovering at an early age that I wanted to work with ICT I studied various programming languages and began working as a Technical support provider when I was 18. I now contribute to various open source projects as well as running two school ICT service provider companies. My role in different organizations has been interesting and challenging. I have had the opportunity to manage large teams of some extremely skilled people so far and have enjoyed each challenge thoroughly, no matter how frustrating!
